Târ

The tār is a long-necked lute stemming from the learned Iranian tradition. Although it originally had five strings, a sixth string was added around 1910. Ostad owned a tār made by the renowned luthier Farajollāh that he would play daily. In Tehran, he interacted with some of the great musicians of the time, notably Darvīsh Khān and Abolhasan Sabā.
