The Celestial Music of Ostad Elahi

Jelo Shāhī Suite

This suite, which literally means “Before the King,” evokes the imperial rites of ancient Persia transposed to the spiritual level. In anticipation of the King’s arrival, we witness the preparations for His coming, which eventually culminate in the ecstasy of His arrival. The names of God (Ali, Haqq, Hū, etc.) and the seven archangels of the tradition (Benyāmīn, Dāwūd, Pīr Mūsī, Mostafā, Yādegār, Shāh Ebrāhīm, Pīr Razbār) are chanted during the piece.

a) Slow Khān Amīrī (Melody of Khāns and Emirs)
b) Rapid Khān Amīrī (Melody of Khāns and Emirs)
c) Gardūne (The Gathering)
d) Jelo Shāhī (Greeting the King)
e) Sawār Sawār (Horsemen, Horsemen)
f) Jang Ārā (Ornaments of War)
g) Mobārak Bādā (Blessed be All)
