A compilation of some of Ostad Elahi’s most beautiful improvisations on the tanbur. The solemnity and majesty of the Tarz-e-Yārī and Sārū Khānī suites, both played in the same mode, are followed by the dance rhythms of Tan Amīrī and Pā Kotakī, evoking joy and ecstasy. As heard on this CD, one of the characteristics of Ostad Elahi’s art was that he would pay tribute to the great figures of the Kurdish and Persian mystical traditions through musical modes specifically dedicated to them.
